Sunday evening Craig and Stephanie were over for dinner in the afternoon. About 5 pm it seemed to be a good idea to take a boat ride. So without any destination in mind I hooked up the boat and loaded the bunch into the truck. Zeek had to share the back seat with Craig and Stephanie. LeAnn wouldn’t give up the front seat. Some kind of dominance thing I think.
I put $40 dollars of the first class fuel into the boat and then and only then did I decide we were going to put in at the boat ramp under the Ellsworth Street bridge.
So to refresh 5 pm at home, wild idea for a boat ride, on the river headed up stream by 6 pm. I love it when it’s spontaneous.
Water level is at 3.4 ft. and the water temp was 69. Looked pretty clear.
Zeek took his position on the bow watching for whatever he watches for. It was a good run with lots of birds and plenty of tubers to slow down for. Only one guy in canoe fishing. The trip up stream took about 50 min including the obligatory stop for Craig and the slow downs for other river traffic. The trip back to the ramp took about 30 min.
This week I hope to do some fishing and next week I am going to take that camper to the Metolius River for a couple of weeks. I am really glad Summer finally got here. I think Zeek is glad also.
